Cleanin up and new acquisitions..

Newbie to the herb stoop! I bought a spearmint/thyme/oregano pot from Trader Joes and repotted it into a larger pot. I think it'll be happier.. When I pulled it out of the pot it came in its roots were all bunched up and root bound at the bottom. This pot will give it some room to expand!
New plant layout for the patio! My little console table has been moved up to the upper patio tier, and on the lower tier I've got the giant rubbermaid bins I inherited (for free! love craigslist), where my tomato plants are gonna go once they arrive on Saturday. Then they're flanked by my container citrus. It should be good!

In the middle of the tomaters, I planted a container with some Japanese cucumbers seedlings that I picked up at the nursery. I'm hoping to train the vines to climb up the tomato cage. Mmm cucumbers. Hopefully I don't lose them to powdery mildew before they fruit like I did last year. Grrr!
Sweet potato plant I inherited from the same girl who gave me the rubbermaid containers. I'm a litle intimidated, but according to her you pretty much just plant it, then ignore it all summer, then dig up tasty sweet potatoes at the end of the season. Hopefully it's as easy as she says!

Freshly cleaned pots waiting for new inhabitants!

In the strip near the driveway I planted some pole beans and some zucchini seedlings from the nursery! I'm hoping the zucchini will have enough room to spread out. The bean teepees were pretty cheap to put up too. Just got some bamboo poles from Home Depot and tied them at the top with twisty ties. Voila!

Zucchini seedling! I think it's pretty cute. I'm hoping that I'm drowning in the stuff by August, so keep your fingers crossed for me!
