As a preventative measure, Jeff and I picked a ton of loquats on Sunday. Generally what tends to happen every summer is that the fruit rots and falls all over the patio which gets gross juicy mush everywhere, including on the patio furniture. Mega gross. So until I raise the money to actually cut the stuipid trees down, Jeff and I attempted to pick as many as possible before they start falling off the tree! We picked three full Trader Joes bags worth, and that's just what we got to before we got too tired! [phew!] Some we made into loquat jam, and we froze some to make into loquat butter later and the rest I unloaded on various people. If anyone wants any, there are still a ton left on the tree!
