eggplant!

My first eggplant! It's a Japanese "Ichiban" and it probably would have gotten even bigger, but when I picked it at this size, it was draggin the whole plant down to the point where it was bent over sideways, with the eggplant resting on the ground! So I figured no sense in waiting, eat it young and tender!

It got made into tasty pasta.. Jeff brought some banana peppers and I contributed my eggplant, some cherry tomatoes, and pesto I made from some homegrown basil. From that, we made a delicious mostly homegrown dinner~ I forgot to take a before picture of the produce, but here are the during and after pictures!
